Orchid Pool is a mature and intimate 5-acre clay and gravel pit located on the Carp Arena complex in Western Belgium, just across the French border only one hour from Calais. It has never been commercially fished since being stocked several years ago. As a result, the 100 or so fast-growing carp that reside in its clear waters are very catchable.

Test fishing has produced fish to over 50lbs with a good number of 30’s and 40’s backing it up along with plenty of hungry, up and coming 20’s, some of which we expect to break through the 30lb barrier before the opening in April 2024.

In the winter of ‘23 we are stocking an additional fifty 30lbers to really enhance the stock. These are beautiful and fast-growing fish with amazing scaling. With our aggressive feeding policy, we expect them to break through the 40lb barrier in no time at all and eventually surpass the 60 and even 70lb barrier.

Orchid is booked exclusively between 4 friends as it has only 4 swims, two pairs situated on opposite banks to give every angler their own quarter of the lake. Embryo has completely de-snagged the margins to keep the fish in open water, making them far more catchable and much easier to land.

Rowing boats (outboard engines are not included or available to hire) are included in the price of the booking on Orchid Lake, but they can only be used for baiting up and NOT dropping/positioning rigs. Remote boats are also NOT allowed on this particular lake.

Existing Carp Arena customers will be impressed with the improvements Embryo have made with a brand new toilet and shower block, satellite toilets around the site, fridge, freezer and battery charging stations, all at no extra cost. All tracks and swims have been enhanced and all Orchid Pool anglers will be happy to know they can park very close to their swims.
